Even at Crap Presents, Secret Santa always started the same way in our office. One person took it far too seriously, someone else forgot until the night before, and everyone pretended they weren’t trying to outdo each other. But when the gifts finally hit the table, the room lit up. A silly mug. A pair of outrageous socks. A desk toy no one asked for, but everyone immediately wanted to play with.
What made it magic wasn’t the price or the wrapping. It was the moment someone unwrapped a small, thoughtful, slightly ridiculous gift and burst out laughing. For a few minutes, deadlines disappeared, and everyone remembered why Secret Santa exists in the first place: to share a smile and make the end of the year feel just a little lighter.
